The three Barberena brothers have been striving to fight in mixed martial arts since they were teenagers. Bryan Barberena, the oldest brother, had his first amateur fight in Walker Minnesota at King of the Cages "Turmoil" defeating another first time fighter by decision after 3 rounds. Bryan went on to win his pro fight debut at the Dakota Fighting Championship 12 in Fargo, North Dakota.

Kevin and Kody are twins who had their first amateur fights at King of the Cage’s "Offensive Strategy" at Northern Lights Casino in Walker. Kevin won by unanimous decision and Kody by 1st round TKO. Kevin and Kody both went on to win their pro debuts at the King of the Cage "Uppercut" event in Laughlin Nevada.

All three brothers strive to be champions at their respective weight classes, all three holding a belt at the same time. They are managed by their father Cesar Barberena.
